We will reduce the vicious animal fine to $25 if, prior to the hearing date, you provide satisfactory proof of each of the following:
- Current obedience training by a County-approved instructor
- Current health certificate from a veterinarian
- Proof of spay/neuter; microchip
- Pet receives training on responsible pet ownership as it pertains to dangerous dogs provided by the department
How To
- Follow the directions on the back of the citation for submitting payment
- For certain citations, such as rabies vaccination or license violations, you have a 15- to 30-day compliance period
- If you rectify the violation within the compliance period, you can present the proof in-person at the Animal Control, and we will waive the fine
- Ordinance violations that allow a 15-day compliance period may be increased to a 30-day compliance period, if you are requesting a voucher for spaying/neutering and need the extra time to get approved for the voucher
- If applicable, go to court as indicated on the citation
- Bring the citation
- Bring the required fees (see above)
