Pet Resource Center Adoption Fees Waived Due to Capacity

Fees waived for all dogs and cats until Sunday, July 30

The Pet Resource Center (PRC) is over capacity and is waiving adoption fees for all dogs and cats until Sunday, July 30. As of Friday afternoon, PRC was 102 percent at capacity with more than 500 dogs and cats available for adoption. The center is asking for the community's help in finding as many PRC pets loving, forever homes this weekend.

The Pet Resource Center is Hillsborough County's only open admission facility in Hillsborough County, meaning it accepts dogs and cats regardless of breed, size, age, or medical condition.

Residents can search online at HCFLGov.net/Adopt to view hundreds of adoptable pets and then visit PRC at 440 N. Falkenburg Road to adopt. Adoptions must be done in person at the center. The shelter is open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Sunday.

Pet foster parents are always needed and help make available valuable kennel space, as well as giving special care and attention to particularly vulnerable animals. After July 30, all ready-to-go pets are $20, which includes spaying/neutering, vaccinations, microchipping, and registration.
